"Right now" is kind of the key word, there. He had you for a while, and the kind of control you were under can be pretty bad for you.

...anyway, for the moment at least it's best if you stay the night. Or- morning, I suppose. After that, I'm going to be getting in contact with some people who are more experienced with how to handle those after effects.

No, no, nothing like that. The organization that's taking care of them just didn't have the resources to handle both them and you on hand.

Honestly, this is mostly to keep you safe than anything else. You're going to have a hard time not listening to orders for a while, mostly, which isn't so great when there'll probably be people coming around to try to scavenge what that guy left.

[ and there is a chance he might be dangerous—he'd been a slave rather than just a food source, who knows what he'd been ordered to do—but keeping him out of other vampire's hands is the more pressing concern for the long term. ]

also that is absolutely unfair. there's still something about this whole interaction that's got him on guard, but at the same time how else is he supposed to react to a small child asking him to keep them safe ]
