It's been a long day, that's all, but I am probably going to make myself hot chocolate or something and then pretend to be a blob for a while. Do you want any?
[ it's a really good house for settling cozily, he's set up blankets and pillows and places screaming to be converted into little reading nooks EVERYWHERE. there are like two of them in the guest bedroom alone.
and it's all going to smell like hot chocolate soon, but that's probably not something he'd even notice. at least the puttering makes for nice background noises.
Chris is going to set himself up on the couch in the living room if Yael hasn't claimed it and just cocoon himself in blankets, probably to eventually pass out there if not roused by one thing or another. ]
[Yael will find a nice thick book and just... read until someone stops him, in a cranny that would make a good booknest if he'd bothered to bring blankets or pillows or anything. Hope the house doesn't get too cold, because he won't notice if it does, just as he doesn't notice the smell of hot chocolate.]
[ it gets a little chilly, but no more than would be uncomfortable if he did register it. thankfully, Chris is used to turning the heat on for guests.
...however, this does not make up for the fact that he does, in fact, just completely pass out on the couch. which means it's around noon the next day by the time he blinks groggily awake, yawns, and falls out of the cocoon to the floor with a thump loud enough to maybe get Yael's attention.
or not, considering he's been reading for like eight hours. ]
[ sorry Yael, he outgrew that kind of bullshit a while back. also you probably should get up and go pee considering you were actually properly hydrated for a while there.
CHRIS TO THE RESCUE. there's some cursing and then a slow shuffle as he comes to check on him, rubbing at one eye with the heel of his palm ]
[ gives him a thumbs up before going to make pancakes. ...he doesn't actually seem too bothered by the fact that Yael presumably stayed up all night reading ]
[he sets the book down and stares down at his hands, trying to orient himself entirely. and... getting a little stuck, enough that he's losing track of time lost in his thoughts and identity.]
[ keeping an ear on him while he gets the pancakes going. it takes a while, which just makes the continued lack of movement worrying...
...eventually sticks them in the oven to stay warm before going to check on Yael, grabbing two of the many pillows along the way after a moment of consideration. ]
Yael.
[ a little sharper than last time, more demanding of his attention ]

[his gaze flicks to the nearest clock without hesitation, noting the time then looking back to Chris.]
Are you tired? I can keep myself entertained, so don't worry.

who needs to actually deal with recovering from brainwashing? who needs reality? not this kid, he's marathoning Harry Potter.]

doesn't respond just yet, casually turning a page.]
no subject
...have you moved at all...

[--seems to snap out of it a little, looking up like he's only just noticed Chris.]
Hm?
no subject
No, huh. 'm gonna make pancakes, you should get up and move a bit so you don't get stiff.
no subject
Ah... Okay. I'll be right down.
[marking his place in the book, promisingly.]
