[his gaze flicks to the nearest clock without hesitation, noting the time then looking back to Chris.]

[ waggles a hand sheepishly ]

It's been a long day, that's all, but I am probably going to make myself hot chocolate or something and then pretend to be a blob for a while. Do you want any?

[but for now, reaching for a book and settling cozily somewhere.]

[ it's a really good house for settling cozily, he's set up blankets and pillows and places screaming to be converted into little reading nooks EVERYWHERE. there are like two of them in the guest bedroom alone.

and it's all going to smell like hot chocolate soon, but that's probably not something he'd even notice. at least the puttering makes for nice background noises.

Chris is going to set himself up on the couch in the living room if Yael hasn't claimed it and just cocoon himself in blankets, probably to eventually pass out there if not roused by one thing or another. ]

[Yael will find a nice thick book and just... read until someone stops him, in a cranny that would make a good booknest if he'd bothered to bring blankets or pillows or anything. Hope the house doesn't get too cold, because he won't notice if it does, just as he doesn't notice the smell of hot chocolate.]

[ it gets a little chilly, but no more than would be uncomfortable if he did register it. thankfully, Chris is used to turning the heat on for guests.

...however, this does not make up for the fact that he does, in fact, just completely pass out on the couch. which means it's around noon the next day by the time he blinks groggily awake, yawns, and falls out of the cocoon to the floor with a thump loud enough to maybe get Yael's attention.

who needs to actually deal with recovering from brainwashing? who needs reality? not this kid, he's marathoning Harry Potter.]
