There are only so many ways one can be conveniently seen, as a child. Given specific parameters for ease, that number is smaller still. The ways I prefer to act as a child build up to how I prefer to act as an adult. In a word: unhindered. I keep to myself to continue to keep to myself, without being so isolated as to be considered antisocial, at least until I'm too old for most to consider it their business to interfere. That's all there is to it. There is nothing else to read into it. As for why I prefer nobody interferes with me, it's as simple as this. I will end myself permanently, or I will end the world.

Lack of enthusiasm is one thing, but not being fussed implies you think me the type to make empty threats.

No, it's means that I think having those things as goals is a completely understandable reaction for having God knows how many lifetimes stuck in your head, ruining whatever possible life you might have. Maybe I should have just said I'm not shocked by it.
